Gene Description AKT1S1, AKT1 substrate 1, encodes a protein that negatively regulates mTOR activity (PMID: 17510057, PMID: 17386266), and plays a role in the regulation of insulin sensitivity (PMID: 17277771, PMID: 27086010) and programmed cell death (PMID: 27086010). AKT1S1 mutations have been identified in breast cancer (PMID: 33685991), and elevated Akt1s1 expression has been identified in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 31901857).
