Gene Description WHR1, winged helix repair factor 1, also referred to as STK19, localizes to the nucleus and plays a role in transcription via phosphorylation of RNA-binding proteins and may be involved in transcription upon DNA damage (PMID: 27184836, PMID: 9812991). WHR1 mutations have been associated with basal cell carcinoma (PMID: 26950094) and melanoma (PMID: 22817889).
