Gene Description

FUBP1, far upstream element-binding protein 1, is a DNA and RNA binding protein (PMID: 30343319) that regulates MYC gene transcription through binding to the far upstream element (FUSE) in the promoter region and has demonstrated effects in cell proliferation, migration, and cell death (PMID: 22926519, PMID: 31553912). Overexpression of FUBP1 has been observed in hepatocellular carcinoma patients with poor prognosis (PMID: 31587040) and has been associated with neuroblastoma (PMID: 31511046) and leukemia (PMID: 30635626).
