Synonyms AP47 | CLAPM2 | CLTNM | MU-1A | mu1A
Gene Description AP1M1, adaptor related protein complex 1 subunit mu 1, is a subunit of the adaptor protein complex 1 (AP-1), which functions in clathrin-coated vesicle formation and regulates protein sorting within the trans-Golgi network-endosome pathway (PMID: 12529433, PMID: 25387275), including appropriate localization of the Insulin/IGF pathway member IRS-1 (PMID: 23478262). Overexpression of APIM1 has been demonstrated in breast cancer with central nervous system metastasis (PMID: 30792808), and a fusion between APIM1 and FGFR2 has been identified in breast cancer (PMID: 29617662).
