| Gene Description | PAPSS1, 3'-phosphoadenosine 5'-phosphosulfate synthase 1, encodes PAPS synthase 1, which is a bifunctional enzyme and universal sulfate donor (PMID: 26220590), that is necessary for sulfate reactions in eukaryotes (PMID: 22451673, PMID: 31131283). Overexpression of Papss1 has been observed in triple-negative breast cancer (PMID: 30146936) and a PAPSS1-BRAF fusion has been identified in melanoma (PMID: 24345920). | ||||||||||||
