| Gene Description | CLDN6, claudin 6, encodes a tight junction protein that plays a key role in cell adhesion and permeability regulation and barrier formation, including the permeability of chloride and ion transport and the development of the lung epidermal permeability barrier (PMID: 34948213, PMID: 11923212), and a potential role in viral entry and infection (PMID: 27885488, PMID: 17804490). CLDN6 expression has been shown to be variable across tumor types, including decreased expression in breast cancer, gastric cancer, and cervical carcinoma but increased expression in hepatocellular carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and endometrial cancer (PMID: 34296304). | ||||||||||
