| Gene Description | CLDN1, claudin 1, is an integral membrane protein and tight junction component involved in cell adhesion and epidermal barrier function (PMID: 11193568, PMID: 11889141), epidermal development (PMID: 18648642), epithelial to mesenchymal transition (PMID: 28316062) and osteoblast proliferation and differentiation (PMID: 25479235), and plays a role in tumor cell invasion (PMID: 16707450, PMID: 27974683). Altered expression of CLDN1 has been identified in various tumor types (PMID: 31952355), including increased expression in colorectal cancer (PMID: 40890958), cervical cancer (PMID: 27974683), gastric cancer (PMID: 24535143), and lung squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 17316888). | ||||||||||||
