Gene Description RPS6KA5, ribosomal protein S6 kinase A5, is a mitogen and stress activated kinase (MSK) that phosphorylates a number of transcription factors including, CREB1 and ATF1, to promote cell proliferation and may regulate the immune system (PMID: 29327245). Overexpression of Rps6ka5 has been observed with increased survival in breast cancer patients (PMID: 29327245) and poor prognosis in colorectal cancer (PMID: 28314603) and glioma (PMID: 30020192).
