Gene Description KLF4, Krueppel-like factor 4, is a transcription factor that regulates cell proliferation, metabolism, and maintenance of pluripotency (PMID: 31101597, PMID: 31141693) and acts as both an activator and repressor (PMID: 24551169). KLF4 expression has been associated with various tumor types (PMID: 25341045; PMID: 24551169; PMID: 23722653, PMID: 30540935) and may be oncogenic or a tumor suppressor, depending on the tumor type (PMID: 31101597), and KLF4 mutations have been observed in secretory meningiomas (PMID: 23404370).
