Gene Description | CD28, T-cell-specific surface glycoprotein CD28, is a co-stimulatory molecule constitutively expressed on T-cells and competes with the co-inhibitory molecule, CTLA4, for binding to CD80 and CD86 (PMID: 28102259) and also promotes IL2 production and T-cell survival through upregulation of BCL2L1 (BCL-XL) (PMID: 30565239). Activation of CD28 is a currently under investigation for immunotherapy in cancer (PMID: 29783736). | ||||||||||
