Gene Description CD86, CD86 molecule, is a costimulatory receptor that interacts with CD28 and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte associated antigen 4 (CTLA4), and plays an important role in homeostasis of regulatory T cells, and regulates self-tolerance and activation of T cells (PMID: 15771580, PMID: 9492990). Expression of CD86 has been identified in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (PMID: 17524139).
