Gene Description ABCG2, ATP binding cassette subfamily G member 2, is a member of the ABC transporter superfamily that is involved in efflux transport of various metabolites and xenobiotic substrates, and plays a role in cellular homeostasis (PMID: 22509477, PMID: 16305368). ABCG2 plays a role in multidrug resistance (PMID: 16305368, PMID: 22509477), and its expression has been identified in various solid tumors and hematologic cancers, including breast, lung, melanoma, acute myeloid leukemia, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 22509477), and overexpression in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 27272814).
