Gene Symbol CD38
Synonyms ADPRC 1 | ADPRC1 | cADPR1
Gene Description CD38, CD38 molecule, is also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase/cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase 1 and is a glycoprotein that binds CD31 and is also an ectoenzyme involved in the metabolism of nicotinamide (PMID: 29118010, PMID: 30546360). CD38 is highly expressed on multiple myeloma cells and serves as a target for anti-CD38 antibody therapy (PMID: 29118010, PMID: 30546360) and CD38 overexpression may contribute to resistance to PD-1 (PDCD1)/PD-L1 (CD274) therapies (PMID: 30012853).
