Gene Description CD40, CD40 molecule, encodes for a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family, which is expressed in a variety of cell types such as B cells, dendritic cells, monocytes, and platelets, and its signaling plays a role in multiple immune processes (PMID: 19426221). CD40 is expressed in many types of tumor cells, including breast, ovary, bladder, lung, colon, prostate, and melanoma (PMID: 11929824).
