| Gene Description | CD47, CD47 molecule, is an immunoglobulin superfamily protein that mediates cell-cell communication through binding to signal regulatory protein alpha (Sirpa) (PMID: 24627525) and servers as a marker of self recognition (PMID: 28286286). CD47 is often overexpressed on tumor cells to evade immune surveillance (PMID: 29743205) and therapeutic disruption of binding of CD47 to the Sirpa receptor on macrophages may stimulate phagocytosis of tumor cells (PMID: 28286286, PMID: 28258703). | ||||||||||
