Gene Description CROCC, ciliary rootlet coiled-coil, rootletin, encodes a protein involved in ciliogenesis (PMID: 33596093) and centrosome cohesion (PMID: 32325071, PMID: 36285440) and also functions as an effector of ATM in mediating DNA damage response (PMID: 24240686). CROCC inactivating mutations are associated with rhabdoid colorectal carcinoma (PMID: 29784668, PMID: 30852641, PMID: 37239344), decreased expression has been observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 22610972), and an FGFR2-CROCC fusion has been identified in cholangiocarcinoma (PMID: 38710951).
