Gene Description CD79A, CD79a molecule, is also known as immunoglobulin-associated alpha and encodes for a membrane protein involved in forming the B cell receptor complex, which once formed, induces B cell activation (PMID: 24146823). CD79A mutations demonstrate constitutive activation of the NF-kB pathway in diffuse large B-cell lymphomas (PMID: 21324920, PMID: 30859597).
