Gene Variant Descriptions PIK3CA P449_L455del results in the deletion of seven amino acids in the C2 PI3K-type domain of the Pik3ca protein from amino acids 449 to 455 (UniProt.org). P449_L455del results in increased Akt phosphorylation in cell culture relative to wild-type Pik3ca in culture (PMID: 21266528) and demonstrates increased transformation ability in two different cell lines, as compared to wild-type Pik3ca (PMID: 29533785).
