Gene Variant Descriptions PIK3CA R108C lies within the p85 domain of the Pik3ca protein (PMID: 15016963). R108C results in increased transformation ability as compared to wild-type Pik3ca in one of two different cell lines in culture (PMID: 29533785), but has not been biochemically characterized and therefore, its effect on Pik3ca protein function is unknown (PubMed, Mar 2024).
